We handle auto glass claim processing for you, making it simple, easy, and hassle-free.Calibrations are necessary to ensure that cameras and sensors are functioning correctly and are properly aligned with the road, helping protect vehicle occupants from potential hazards. After a windshield is replaced, cameras and sensors mounted on the old windshield are transferred to the new one. These Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) must be calibrated to operate as originally intended by the manufacturer. The vehicle’s year, make, and model determine the learning process for the sensors, as well as the type of calibration required—either static calibration with stationary targets or dynamic calibration on the road. Sometimes, both types may be needed. After windshield replacement, it may be necessary for a technician to drive the vehicle to perform dynamic calibration or validation, depending on the year, make, and model. This involves driving at highway speeds on clearly marked roads with visible lines and signage so the cameras can focus and calibrate. The distance and duration will vary based on the vehicle and route, ranging from one mile to fifty miles. Weather conditions such as rain or snow may prevent dynamic calibration from being completed. In those cases, our glass team will reschedule the replacement and calibration for a time when it can be performed safely and accurately.
